Reading the latest blog posts
To catch up on the very latest news couldn't be simpler. Just head to http://moorhall.blogspot.com and start reading - the latest posts will always appear at the top.

Finding specific content
There are multiple ways to find the content you are looking for:

The first way is to look at the Blog Archive. If you scroll down the page a bit, you will find this on the right-hand side menu. Put simply, this is a list of contents. You can browse what is in each year, and then each month by clicking on the arrows to the left of each section.

The second way is to use Labels. You will find this just below the Blog Archive.

Each post on the blog is labelled to signify what sort of content the post includes. The labels block pictured basically lists all labels in use on the blog. Clicking on one of these will show you all of the posts with that label.

So, if you wanted to see everything Year 4 have been up to for example, you would click on 'Year 4' to view all of the posts with that label. Similarly, if you wanted to see all of Moor Hall Primary's video productions, you would click on 'video' to display all posts containing a video.

You can also see the labels at the very bottom of each post. This is useful if you like a post and want to view more like it - just click on it to view everything with that label!

The third and final way to find what you what is to search for it. If you really can't find what you're looking for, scroll to the bottom of the blog to find this handy tool. When you search it will bring up a list of posts containing your phrase/word. As a bonus, you can also search the school website as well - just change the selected tab above the search results from This Blog to Our Website.

Interacting with the blog
Did you know you can actually interact with the blog and have your say? There are multiple ways of doing this as well!

First, you can leave a reaction.

On the bottom of each post, you will see the above bar. You can click on each tick-box to signify if you thought that a post was interesting, useful or excellent. You can click as many or as few as you want! The more you click, the more we know which kinds of posts everyone prefers and finds most enjoyable or useful - so keep on letting us know how you feel about our posts!

Secondly, you can actually post your own comment. To do this, click the '0 comments' link beneath the post you would like to discuss.

NOTE: The link will read '1 comment', '2 comments' and so on if there are already comments on the post.

When you click this, a new pop-up window will appear:

This window has two main areas - the comment area and the identity area.

In the comment area, simply type the message that you want to appear.
eg Thanks for this brilliant post!

In the identity area, you can provide your name so that everyone knows who has left the comment. By far the easiest way to do this is to select the Name/URL option, then simply type your name into the Name box. You can leave the URL box blank.

If you don't want to leave a name, you can always click on Anonymous, although it's much nicer to know who it is putting across their views!

When you're done, simply click the button marked PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT.

Please note that the comment won't immediately appear as every comment has to be moderated and approved to avoid abuse of the comment system.

When your comment has been approved, it will appear on the list of Recent Comments on the main page. To find this, scroll down the page and look on the right-hand side. It is located directly below the Labels section.

In this way, people can check which are the latest active comments, and can also converse with each other.

TIP: If you click on the title of the comment (eg Mrs R Gore wrote...), it will take you directly to the post that the comment was made about, so you can read that post and all of the comments people have made on it.

The third way to have your say is simple. At the top right hand-side of the blog you will see a poll. This poll will change every now and then - sometimes it will be a serious question that we'd like to monitor (so we really appreciate the feedback!) while other times it will simply be a question asked for fun. Feel free to come back regularly to answer any new poll questions!
(Please note that there have been compatibility issues between the poll and some internet browsers. Internet Explorer 7 is known to cause intermittent issues with the poll - using a browser like Firefox will solve this issue).

By now you should have a good idea of what you can do with our school blog - why not go and take a look - and maybe leave some comments too!
