On behalf of the staff and school we welcome you and your child(ren) to Moorhens.

As well as running fun packed free play opportunities we also offer a range of other weekly activities hosted by an outside provider, usually one each day of the week. Details of our offering can be found here. Clubs have limited availability so early booking is recommended. To book free play or activity club sessions and pay online, please click here.

We aim to make Moorhens safe, fun and enjoyable for everyone who attends.  If you have any problems regarding your child’s place, booking, or payment please come and see us or make an appointment.

Information for Parents

Times of Operation
We open every morning for breakfast from 7.30am until the start of school, and after school from 3.10pm/3.20pm until 6.00pm (4.40pm on a Friday).

Breakfast Club 7.30am - 8.50am   

PM1  3.20pm - 4.40pm   

PM2 4.40pm - 6.00pm

Cost

Registration fee £20

Advanced bookings £6.50     

Ad hoc bookings £7.50 

Uncollected child/late collection charge £15

Registration

In order to use our service, you will need to complete a registration form (click here) and pay a one off registration fee of £20.

How to Make a Booking

Places are booked by parents in advance, full payment is required at the time of booking via scopay. Sessions are only secured when requested on scopay and once full payment is received. Ad hoc sessions may be booked outside the booking window, subject to availability.

To maintain staff to pupil ratios, there are a set number of places for each session. Once a session is full, our system will not allow you to make a booking and you will need to make an alternative arrangement or you may check the scopay app daily for cancellations.

There is high demand in particular for afternoon sessions and we recommend booking during the booking window at your earliest convenience. Please note that the Moorhens team are unable to accommodate requests to provide a place where a session is full.

Once sessions have been booked refunds are not provided.

Booking Windows

Parents will receive correspondence to advise that the date of the next booking window and to remind you of its closure. A list of booking windows for this academic year can be found below:

Autumn Term 2 2025 – Monday 15th October 2025

Spring Term 1 2026 – Monday 8th December 2025

Spring Term 2 2026 – Monday 2nd February 2026

Summer Term 1 2026 – Monday 16th March 2026

Summer Term 2 2026 – Monday 11th May 2026
